PeptidesDNA

$99 (upload) / $299 (kit)Our product

The only DNA-to-peptide platform built around CYP metabolism, evidence tiering, and raw-file upload.

SNPs120
Peptides25+
RegionEU
UploadYes
CYP PanelYes

Best overall value. If you already have genetic data from any consumer test, the $99 upload path gives you the most comprehensive DNA-to-peptide report available — CYP panel, evidence tiers, and 25+ peptides scored against your genome.

Strengths
  • Cheapest upload option at $99 — use existing 23andMe or AncestryDNA data
  • Full CYP450 metabolism panel included in every report
  • Three-tier evidence system (strong / emerging / preliminary) with cited sources
  • No subscription — you pay once, keep your report forever
  • GDPR-compliant, EU-based data processing
  • 120 SNPs across 25+ peptides — broadest genetic coverage per dollar
Weaknesses
  • No blood biomarker integration (DNA-only approach)
  • Newer platform — smaller community than established players

PlexusDx

$298

Clinical-grade pharmacogenomic testing with blood biomarker integration.

SNPs57
Peptides49
RegionUS
UploadNo
CYP PanelNo

Good option if you want blood testing alongside genetic data. The 49-peptide panel is the widest available, but the lack of CYP metabolism analysis means you're missing how your body actually processes each compound.

Strengths
  • Largest peptide panel at 49 compounds
  • Blood biomarker integration for real-time context
  • Single purchase, no recurring fees
  • Clinical-grade lab processing
Weaknesses
  • No raw file upload — requires their proprietary test kit
  • Only 57 SNPs (less than half of PeptidesDNA's coverage)
  • No CYP450 metabolism panel
  • No evidence tiering — all peptide recommendations treated equally
  • US-only shipping

SelfDecode

$198–$927 + $120/yr renewal

Broad health-genetics platform that includes peptide recommendations among hundreds of supplement suggestions.

SNPsImputed (not directly genotyped)
Peptides~43
RegionUS
UploadYes
CYP PanelYes

A jack-of-all-trades health platform. SelfDecode covers peptides, but they're buried among hundreds of supplement recommendations. The subscription model and imputed SNPs make it a poor fit if peptide optimization is your primary goal.

Strengths
  • Upload option available ($99/yr)
  • Large peptide coverage (~43 compounds)
  • Some CYP450 gene analysis included
  • Broad health insights beyond peptides
Weaknesses
  • Requires ongoing subscription ($120/yr) to keep access to reports
  • SNPs are imputed (statistically inferred), not directly genotyped — lower accuracy
  • CYP panel exists but is disconnected from peptide recommendations
  • No evidence tiering on peptide suggestions
  • Peptides are a small feature within a massive platform — not the focus
  • Expensive if you only want peptide matching ($198 minimum + annual fee)

ThePeptideList

$250

Boutique peptide-genetics service with DOI-cited evidence and pharmacogenomic focus.

SNPsUndisclosed
Peptides29
RegionUS
UploadNo
CYP PanelYes

The closest competitor in methodology — CYP panel, evidence tiers, DOI citations. Solid science, but no upload option means you're paying $250 for a new test even if you already have genetic data sitting on your hard drive.

Strengths
  • DOI citations on every recommendation — fully referenced
  • CYP450 metabolism panel included
  • Evidence tiering system for peptide suggestions
  • Peptide-focused (not a general health platform)
Weaknesses
  • No raw file upload — requires their own test kit
  • SNP count not publicly disclosed
  • Higher price point than upload-based alternatives
  • US-based only
  • Smaller peptide panel (29 vs. 25+ with deeper SNP coverage)

10X Health

$599–$1,299

Celebrity-backed genetic testing focused on 5 genes. No peptide matching.

SNPs9 (5 genes)
Peptides0
RegionUS
UploadNo
CYP PanelNo

Not a peptide test at all. 10X Health looks at MTHFR and a handful of methylation genes, then sells you supplements. If you're here for DNA-to-peptide matching, this isn't it — despite the premium price tag.

Strengths
  • Strong brand recognition (Gary Brecka)
  • Simple, easy-to-understand report format
  • Includes general health and methylation insights
Weaknesses
  • Only tests 5 genes (9 SNPs) — extremely narrow panel
  • Zero peptide recommendations included
  • Most expensive option at $599–$1,299
  • No raw file upload option
  • No CYP, no evidence tiering, no peptide matching
  • Primarily a marketing funnel for supplements

Sequencing.com

$99

Consumer genetic testing marketplace with a single GLP-1 response app.

SNPsUndisclosed
PeptidesGLP-1 only
RegionUS
UploadYes
CYP PanelNo

Fine if you only care about GLP-1/semaglutide response. But for $99 — the same price as a PeptidesDNA upload — you get a single peptide instead of 25+. Extremely narrow scope.

Strengths
  • Affordable at $99
  • Accepts raw file uploads from other providers
  • Quick single-peptide analysis
Weaknesses
  • Only covers GLP-1 — no other peptides analyzed
  • No CYP450 metabolism panel
  • No evidence tiering or research citations
  • Not a comprehensive peptide matching platform
  • SNP panel size not disclosed

Still have questions?

The most common things people ask before choosing a test.

What is a DNA-to-peptide test?

A DNA-to-peptide test analyzes specific genetic variants (SNPs) that influence how your body metabolizes, transports, and responds to therapeutic peptides. The result is a personalized ranking of which peptides are most likely to work for you — and which ones your genetics may limit.

Can I use my existing 23andMe or AncestryDNA data?

Some services accept raw data uploads. PeptidesDNA and Sequencing.com both accept uploads from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, and other major providers. Others (PlexusDx, ThePeptideList, 10X Health) require you to purchase their proprietary kit regardless of what data you already have.

Why does CYP450 metabolism matter for peptides?

CYP450 enzymes are responsible for metabolizing many compounds in your body, including peptides and their downstream effects. Variants in CYP genes can make you a fast or slow metabolizer, which directly affects dosing, efficacy, and side-effect risk. A test without CYP analysis is giving you half the picture.

What does evidence tiering mean?

Evidence tiering categorizes each peptide recommendation by the strength of scientific research behind the genetic association. Strong-tier means multiple human clinical trials; emerging means animal models plus early human data; preliminary means mechanistic plausibility with limited direct evidence. This helps you prioritize which recommendations to act on first.

How many SNPs do I actually need tested?

More is not always better — what matters is that the SNPs tested are directly relevant to peptide metabolism and response. Testing 9 SNPs across 5 genes (like 10X Health) misses most peptide-relevant variants. A focused panel of 50–120 peptide-specific SNPs gives you actionable coverage without noise. Imputed SNPs (statistically guessed) are less reliable than directly genotyped ones.
